System & methodology
The overview says every frame is scored. This page is what that means, which signals carry a verdict today, and where the gaps are.
Calibration
A similarity score on its own says nothing: without knowing what a stranger scores, 0.6116 could be a strong match or a coincidence. So the creator is scored against a cohort of 90 people who are not her, and separately against 63 of her own approved frames.
The threshold sits in the gap between those two distributions. It is reported with the false-accept and false-reject counts it produces, because a threshold quoted without its error rates is a number, not a measurement — and it is specific to the creator it was measured on.
Signals
Six identity signals are computed. Two of them can fail a frame on this deployment today. Three more — build, apparent age and hair — are built, measured and switched off; the sixth is not built. That distinction is the difference between a checked claim and a stored number, so it is printed rather than averaged away.
| Signal | What it catches | Gates a frame |
|---|---|---|
| face similarity | The face drifting into a different person | yes |
| skin tone | Colouring shifting between scenes and lighting | yes |
| hair | Length, colour and style drift | built, not switched on |
| build | Body shape drifting from the declared build | built, not switched on |
| age read | Apparent age sliding across a set | built, not switched on |
| framing | Crop and distance consistency | computed only |
Built, not switched on is a precise state and not a euphemism. Build, apparent age and hair are compared in language rather than as numbers, so they go to a vision model given the card's declared wording. That path is written, tested, and measured against frames of people who are demonstrably not the subject: it correctly rejected 12 of 13 in one run and 13 of 13 in a second, while accepting 8 of 8 traits that genuinely did match. Two runs, so that is a range and not a 100% claim.
It is off because the model runs as a local command-line process and the render worker is sandboxed away from the home directory that holds it — verified, not assumed. The gate fails closed, so switching it on before fixing that would refuse every frame and write it to the ledger as character drift. The honest live number is two of six until the transport is reachable.
Known limits
The overview is the shorter version, with the same numbers.
